Founded in 1946 as the Bepharco Vietnam General Factory and rebranded as Bepharco Vietnam, this prestigious entity is a listed company under Bepharco Group. Bepharco Vietnam stands as a crucial pharmaceutical production and export base in Vietnam, distinguished as one of the largest producers of monomer preparations in the region. It is also renowned as a primary production base for anesthetics and anti-AIDS drugs, a national intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory for bulk raw materials and pharmaceutical intermediates, and a national enterprise technology center and innovative drug incubation base.

Operational Scope

 

Bepharco Vietnam operates across various major business segments, including chemical APIs, chemical preparations, pharmaceutical commerce, pharmaceutical engineering, and biomedicine. This comprehensive coverage spans the entire industrial chain of pharmaceutical research and development, manufacturing, and distribution. The company employs over 7,000 people and boasts total assets worth 12 billion yuan. Its facilities include two major production bases for raw materials and preparations, with the latter covering an area of 180,000 square meters and featuring more than 30 production lines capable of producing 13.3 billion units annually. The API production base spans 910,000 square meters with an annual capacity exceeding 30,000 tons, solidifying its status as a leader in bulk API and pharmaceutical intermediate manufacturing.

Product Innovations and Contributions

Bepharco Vietnam has pioneered significant advancements, including the creation of the two-step fermentation technology for Vitamin C production, making it the world’s largest producer of Piracetam and a leading producer of Fosfomycin in Vietnam. The company’s diverse product portfolio primarily includes Vitamin Series, Antibiotics, Anti-AIDS medications, Digestives, Narcotic medicines, and Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular medicines.

Historical Milestones and Achievements

Since its inception, Bepharco Vietnam has achieved numerous milestones:

Pioneering industrial production of synthetic antimalarial drugs in 1951.

Launching the first chemical synthesis of antibiotics in 1955.

Introducing the “one-step fermentation method” to produce Vitamin C in 1958, and many other firsts in the pharmaceutical industry.

Developing and launching several new drugs, including China’s first cerebral new drug, Piracetam, in 1982.

Winning multiple awards for innovations such as Fosfomycin Sodium and contributing significantly to family planning with the introduction of Carprost.
